We've sure had fun sharing our merchandise with friendly faces in exchange for tour gas money over the years, but alas we have no more use for it! Visit our store to check out what we have left and enjoy free shipping (in the US) on all items! We have seven Willow Steps tooth brushes left so the first seven orders get a free tooth brush!
If you don't like our prices or you're broke, email Jesse at contact [at] willowsteps [dot] com and we'll work something out for sure. Take some merch off our hands!
We've had a blast playing for our friends and community over the last three years, but alas it seems it is time for change. Sadly, our folk duo will be disbanding. The two of us plan to focus on separate life goals over the coming years and it no longer makes sense for us to keep the project going. We want to express a HUGE thank you to our supporters who have been there for us throughout and we'd like to invite you to our final performances in February. We'll be touring to the places we have felt the most connected to: Oakland CA, Nevada City CA, Portland OR, and Seattle WA. We may add a few more cities to the tour route, we'll see. Come out to the show so we can serenade you one last time! Check out our Finale Tour dates and we hope to see you there!
We're hanging out in the wilderness of Nevada City, CA writing some new music and beginning to put together a couple tours for 2018. We'll be back in Oakland to do a little cameo at an awesome benefit variety show on Friday the 17th. We'll be performing a couple songs for the cause and you can see our tour page for details on that event. Have a great week :)
Our music is on its way to Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Amazon, and bunch of other online places! It'll take a little while for them to process our submissions and have them up so stay tuned. In the mean time, we have some new tour dates, including a short cameo performance at a fundraiser in Oakland next month. Check out the details on our Tour Page :-)
Sorry you haven't heard from us in a while! After our five-week Summer tour followed by our performance in San Francisco last month, we've been laying low and working on some music biz behind the scenes. In the last few weeks, I've become a registered songwriter represented by ASCAP, created the Jesse Strickman Music Publishing company, and updated the Willow Steps Press Kit (viewable by scrolling to the bottom of the About page). Next up, we'll get our music on Spotify. Stay tuned!
Big thanks to Music and Motion Pictures for producing this video of us while we were on tour in San Diego. Hope you enjoy, folks!
The last show of our Summer tour was at Homestead Apothecary's annual Medicine Fair in Oakland last weekend. Afterwards, they made this one-minute video collage featuring our music. You'll spot us in the video as well. For more imagery from our Summer tour check out these photos we just sent out to our awesome email followers.
We've been having some real great shows and a wonderful time visiting friends in all the cities we've visited so far. We had an awesome audience in Seattle (live photo of us playing above) and a packed-house in Portland. We had a killer time playing in Leiya's hometown of Nevada City to a full cafe of friends. In Eugene we played at a winery's all ages outdoor ampthitheater and following our set some kids took over our instruments (photo above). It was adorable. Tomorrow we head down to SoCal to play in LA for the first time, opening for the popular local band Albert & His Dreamboats and then to the San Diego area for another show and a music video shoot. On the way back up we'll hit San Luis Obispo to play at the famous cafe, Linnaea's, known for live music and finally one last free show in Oakland at Homestead Apothecary's Annual Medicine Fair (See our tour page for details). We super appreciate all the friends and nice folks coming out to the shows to support us and hear our tunes. Thanks thanks thanks!
We'd like to introduce a new music video for our song "Lovers Recipe" about love and loss. We hope you like it! The goal was to make a dreamy, collage-like visual piece with strong themes of loneliness and heartbreak to match the song. The story line is purposefully abstract and up to interpretation. We have ideas of what's happening here and are curious to hear what you think it's about!
We added a new element to this site! Now all of our released songs have their own page dedicated to them, complete with full lyrics, an artist statement, and the streaming song. Some of them include music videos and press quotes too. Check it out by clicking a song on our music page!
