Sorry you haven't heard from us in a while! After our five-week Summer tour followed by our performance in San Francisco last month, we've been laying low and working on some music biz behind the scenes. In the last few weeks, I've become a registered songwriter represented by ASCAP, created the Jesse Strickman Music Publishing company, and updated the Willow Steps Press Kit (viewable by scrolling to the bottom of the About page). Next up, we'll get our music on Spotify. Stay tuned!
Big thanks to Music and Motion Pictures for producing this video of us while we were on tour in San Diego. Hope you enjoy, folks!
The last show of our Summer tour was at Homestead Apothecary's annual Medicine Fair in Oakland last weekend. Afterwards, they made this one-minute video collage featuring our music. You'll spot us in the video as well. For more imagery from our Summer tour check out these photos we just sent out to our awesome email followers.
We've been having some real great shows and a wonderful time visiting friends in all the cities we've visited so far. We had an awesome audience in Seattle (live photo of us playing above) and a packed-house in Portland. We had a killer time playing in Leiya's hometown of Nevada City to a full cafe of friends. In Eugene we played at a winery's all ages outdoor ampthitheater and following our set some kids took over our instruments (photo above). It was adorable. Tomorrow we head down to SoCal to play in LA for the first time, opening for the popular local band Albert & His Dreamboats and then to the San Diego area for another show and a music video shoot. On the way back up we'll hit San Luis Obispo to play at the famous cafe, Linnaea's, known for live music and finally one last free show in Oakland at Homestead Apothecary's Annual Medicine Fair (See our tour page for details). We super appreciate all the friends and nice folks coming out to the shows to support us and hear our tunes. Thanks thanks thanks!
We'd like to introduce a new music video for our song "Lovers Recipe" about love and loss. We hope you like it! The goal was to make a dreamy, collage-like visual piece with strong themes of loneliness and heartbreak to match the song. The story line is purposefully abstract and up to interpretation. We have ideas of what's happening here and are curious to hear what you think it's about!
We added a new element to this site! Now all of our released songs have their own page dedicated to them, complete with full lyrics, an artist statement, and the streaming song. Some of them include music videos and press quotes too. Check it out by clicking a song on our music page!
Due to a couple unrelated complications, two shows were canceled from the tour. The Shire was a DIY music venue in Modesto where we were planning to play next month. Unfortunately they were shut down by the city, which is super sad because we (and many folks) loved that place. It was a cute clean shack with a beautiful stage located in the back of a communal household of creative young folks in Modesto. They were professional and positive. We will truly miss you Shire!
The San Diego event was canceled due to scheduling problems, but thankfully we have a gig in La Mesa, CA just right around the corner where we'll be playing a three hour set. So anyone in San Diego hoping to see us still can without much inconvenience.
We’re hitting the road for our biggest tour yet! We’d love to see the buddies we don’t get to see often enough. Drop us a line and let’s get together to catch up, even if briefly, as our schedule might be tight. Please come to the shows of course as we’d like to share our music with you. Bring some friends and help us spread this music we’ve created to farther reaches. (Most of the performances are free!) To our Bay Area folks, we’re playing at three great Oakland fairs. Come say hi!

Our Washington and Oregon tour dates are all set and now we're focusing on our home state of California! In addition to an art fair and street festival in Oakland, we've just added three more CA gigs. We'll be playing in a couple cute cafes in Roseville (Acoustic Den Cafe) and San Luis Obispo (Linnaea's Cafe), both famous for featuring great live acoustic music. In LA we're opening for the incredibly entertaining local Psy-Country-Pop band, Albert & His Dreamboats, at a venue called the Escondite. Check out our Tour Page for details on all the performances and stay tuned for a couple more CA dates! Can't wait to hit the road again this June :)
